The PLANET project white paper

HYPERTECH is proud to be part of PLANET H2020 consortium and present its White Paper that summarizes the key aspects of the research framework and shares its conclusions with the interested stakeholders. The publication is targeting DSOs as network operators and planners, policymakers at EU and national level, energy market and policy regulators, standardisation bodies, RES producers, aggregators, P2G/ P2H solution providers, end-prosumers, the scientific community as well as representatives of the EU/ National Smart Grid and Energy Conversion and Storage Industrial communities.

ACCEPT Grant

HYPERTECH Energy Labs have been awarded a new R&D contract from the European Commission (Project: ACCEPT - ACtive Communities & Energy Prosumers for the energy Transition). Demand flexibility from residential buildings is the main untapped source of flexibility currently in the market and promises significant flexibility potential, especially taking into account the electrification of heat and transport mega-trends. Energy communities are a promising organizational vehicle for involving citizens – who directly control residential demand - in the energy transition, but currently lack the necessary tools to exploit the available opportunities and create financially viable operations based on the provision of services that citizens want.

COGITO Grant

HYPERTECH Energy Labs have been awarded a new R&D contract from the European Commission (Project: COGITO: COnstruction-phase diGItal Twin mOdel). COGITO aims to materialise the digitalisation benefits for the construction industry by harmonising Digital Twins with the Building Information Model and building a digital Construction 4.0 tool-box to unleash the untapped potential in productivity improvement and increased safety.

TIGON Grant

HYPERTECH Energy Labs have been awarded a new R&D contract from the European Commission (Project: TIGON: Towards Intelligent DC-based hybrid Grids Optimizing the network performance). It focuses on the deployment and integration of intelligent DC-based grid architectures within the current energy system while providing ancillary services to the main network. To do so, TIGON proposes a four-level approach aiming at improving 1) Reliability, 2) Resilience 3) Performance, and 4) Cost Efficiency of hybrid grids through the development of an innovative portfolio of power electronic solutions and software systems and tools focused on the efficient monitoring, control and management of DC grids.

SENDER Grant

HYPERTECH Energy Labs have been awarded a new R&D contract from the European Commission (Project SENDER: Sustainable Consumer engagement and demand response) A key feature of the SENDER solution will be its pro-activeness, characterized by the fact that, unlike current demand-response systems, consumers will not react to signals received from the market and grid operators. Sensor data from the consumer’s premises and the environment will be collected and processed in a cyber-secure way to identify typical pro-/consumption patterns based on artificial intelligence technologies. The clustering of identified characteristics according to gender and climatic conditions, values, will allow creating highly accurate, predictive consumption/load patterns of digital twins that represent various consumer/prosumer profiles.

Location3 project - Innovative solutions for the media and entertainment industry

HYPERTECH continuing its long tradition in developing software solutions for the Media and Entertainment Industry, has been recently awarded in collaboration with CERTH-ITI, and Argonauts Audiovisual Productions a new contract by the Special Management and Implementation Authority for Research, Technological Development and Innovation Actions (MIA-RTDI) of the Greek Ministry of Development and Investments for a highly innovative project named LOCATION3. LOCATION3 aims in the development of a database and a search engine with special features that will support, at the level of pre-production of a film, the crucial function of location scouting (the detailed recording of points of interest for the shooting of film productions).

Interinstitutional framework contract for the Development of Static & Interactive Information and Storytelling Products

HYPERTECH as part of a Consortium was assigned a four-year interinstitutional framework contract (06/2020-05/2024) to consult eight EU Bodies (European Food Safety Authority – EFSA, European Securities and Markets - ESMA, Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications - BEREC, European Union Agency for Railways - ERA, European Investment Bank - EIB, Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking - BBI JU, Single Resolution Board - SRB, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority - EIOPA) on communication, web design & user experience, as well as provide consultation on digital media strategy.

Contract signature with DG REFORM to provide Technical support in strengthening the capacity of the Cyprus Tax Department to analyse and implement court decisions on tax matters

HYPERTECH undertook (July 2020) and has been implementing (until July 2021) along with Everis Belgium, a service contract with the DG REFORM of the European Commission to deliver technical consultancy to Cyprus Tax Department (CTD). The contract aims in assisting the CTD for the provision of technical and functional specifications for the development of an e-library and collection and analysis of domestic tax court decisions of tax tribunals, Administrative and Supreme Court with relevant links to EU legislative acts and case law of CJEU.

D^2EPC Grant

HYPERTECH Energy Labs have been awarded a new R&D contract from the European Commission (Project: D^2EPC: Next-generation Dynamic Digital EPCs for Enhanced Quality and User Awareness). D^2EPC aims to set the grounds for the next generation of dynamic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for buildings. The proposed framework sets its foundations on the smart-readiness level of the buildings and the corresponding data collection infrastructure and management systems. It is fed by operational data and adopts the ‘digital twin’ concept to advance Building Information Modelling, calculates a novel set of energy, environmental, financial and human comfort/ wellbeing indicators, and through them the EPC classification of the building in question.
